Decision day for America

I ate too many veggie sausages at supper last night, and paid for my indulgence, not with indigestion but with sleep lost getting up to empty my bladder. The traditional dietary advice  'Eat supper like a pauper' makes sense to me, but what to eat and how much in order to enjoy sleep with minimal interruption is still an unanswered question.

I got up late and just finished having a shower when Clare's study group arrived for their session. I spent the morning pushing back against drowsiness, reflecting and writing, wondering about the outcome of the American mid-term elections today. Clare cooked lunch after her guests left. I walked for an hour in Llandaff Fields afterwards. Cold east wind justified wearing my thick ski jacket. When I got back, the aroma of lemon and orange marmalade greeted me. Clare had been busy adding to our stocks of jam.

After supper, long chats with Owain and with Ashley, then another couple of absorbing episodes of 'Blue Lights' before bed.
