Voters verdict

An overcast sky when I woke up from a disturbed night of sleep, although my intestines and bladder were not as irritated as they have been, by taking care about what I eat for supper, so that my digestion isn't working overtime in the evening. Kath called as she drove to work and told us about the long weekend she and Anto enjoyed in Sta Pola after their latest 'Dance in the Dark' performance tour.

In America leading politicians are starting to distance themselves from Trump, following yesterday's huge vote of disapproval of his conduct of the Iran war and subsequent rise in the cost of living. In Israel, courts have dismissed Netanyahu's allegations of electoral misconduct and the Joint List of elected Arab Israeli candidates has agreed to support Eisenkot's attempt to form a new government. As Trump was vocal in his support for Netanyahu and allied America with Israel in waging war on Iran, I wonder if the verdict on both leaders will contribute towards ending the conflict in the Middle East? Once out of power, Netanyahu will have to face pending corruption charges. Trump's initiatives will be challenged and hindered by both Houses of Congress and he too is likely to face investigation for corruption. The popular verdict reveals that you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

Our new IKEA single bed mattress arrived after breakfast. It was rolled up tightly in thick plastic sheeting and delivered in a large cardboard box. It was so heavy, it took both of us to lug it upstairs and free it from the packaging. There's more space in the bedroom now, with the fold-away twin bed tucked away beneath the bed with the new mattress installed.

Clare cooked pasta with prawns and veg for lunch. After a brief snooze I went to the Co-op to buy fruit. Then I walked in Llandaff Fields for an hour while it was still light. A couple of lorries drove out laden with large logs and debris from fallen trees after a tidying up operation. One of them had a heavy lifting crane device attached to it, capable of lifting a ton's weight of wood from sections of big branches for removal. What I don't understand is why some large logs are left in situ for years next to the stump of the tree they were cut from.

After supper an hour after dark, a fireworks display started at the SWALEC Stadium in Sophia Gardens. It was violently loud. Clare watched from the attic but I had no inclination to do so. I watched snother couple of episodes of 'Blue Lights' until bed time.
